Hollow composite manufacturing relies on sacrificial tooling that can be material- and energy-intensive and difficult to recover after use.

Combines waste-derived ceramic formulations, binder-jet 3D printing and water-soluble tooling in a circular workflow designed for complex composite parts.

SEARCLE develops binder-jetted sacrificial cores formulated from waste-derived ceramic materials. The printed core dissolves in water after composite manufacturing, while recovered powder can be reused in new printing cycles.

Targets high-value composite manufacturing applications such as carbon bicycles, aerospace and other high-performance hollow parts. Industrial printing has been validated with CONCR3DE equipment.

The project reports recycling of used soluble mould material of up to 80%, with waste-derived inputs including shell waste and alumina.
