From October 2–4, 2024, the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) took place in Budapest, bringing together leaders in AI, data, and digital transformation. CIRCULOOS contributed to the session “Moving to the Edge: The Impact and Implications of the CEI Continuum on Manufacturing”, co-sponsored by PANDORA, AIREDGIO5.0, and CIRCULOOS.
The session explored how the Cloud-Edge-IoT (CEI) continuum is reshaping manufacturing by enabling real-time monitoring, improved resource efficiency, and sustainable production models. Representing CIRCULOOS, partner Innomine highlighted the project’s role in empowering European SMEs to adopt digital tools that support circular manufacturing.
Key use cases included:
- Digital twins for leather waste reuse
- Blockchain-based frameworks for transparent supply chains
- IoT and predictive maintenance to reduce material use and extend equipment life
The session underlined how CEI technologies can be powerful enablers of circular economy goals and how CIRCULOOS is helping make those technologies accessible to manufacturers across Europe.
